Hi, I’m Hope
A professional artist, based in Fort Collins, Colorado with 15+ years of experience in graphic design, illustration, and photography. I’ve worked with grassroots non-profit organizations, start-ups, and multi-million dollar companies. No matter the size of the company or organization my passion is to help create visual brands with warm personalities and eye-catching elements.
I specialize in hand-drawn ink or digital illustrations focused on natural elements for use in marketing, print, web, and packaging. The focus of most of my work is botanical in-nature, which has attracted clients and companies in the natural food and beverage, health and wellness, and wedding industry.
MY STORY
I am first and foremost a dedicated mama to my two sweet babies, Neil and Lila, they have my heart and honestly they’re my greatest art project. Along with molding and shaping my little ones I’m a maker, baker, and novice candlestick maker. If I can make it with my hands I’m going to give it a go. Therefore, my work can have a wide berth, I work in cycles and seasons. Always growing and learning new skills.
No matter what the season of projects, my greatest mission is to be thoughtful in regards to humanity and our planet. I strive to live a low-waste life and that carries over into my work.
I was born and raised in northwestern Wisconsin and moved to Colorado in 2013. The ephemeral woodland meadows of trilliums and trout lilies still delight my inner child, but I have grown to love the hazy mountain silhouettes and rabbit brush landscapes that captivate your imagination. Colorado has wiggled its way into my heart and I can finally say it feels like home.
I got my Bachelor’s of Science in Environmental Science with an emphasis in Plant Science, GIS, and Studio Art (it’s a whole story). I’ve always been mesmerized by the natural world, its vastness is so immense with vibrant arrays of color, shapes, and patterns creating rhythms and ripples.
While pursuing my degree I found Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator installed on my college laptop. This discovery propelled me to where I am today. I taught myself how to use these programs and eventually started gaining clients for my photography and graphic design skills. I designed band posters, logos, and donated my time to create important work for local environmental and humanitarian non-profits.
After graduating I had envisioned working for the Department of Natural Resources in efforts to make a physical impact on preserving the environment. Those plans ended up changing bringing me back to where I am today, an artist and designer still inspired by nature.
