ILLUSTRATIONS & STYLING
2020
As an illustrator, my medium of choice is black ink pens and my focus has been nature elements. Just more recently have I been falling back in love with abstracted patterns with the use of shape and space to move the eye.
These illustrations are from a collection of work I produced for an art show in Menomonie, Wisconsin before moving to Colorado. The fox, sumac, and ramp (wild leek) were all done in homage to the only place that I had ever called home up until that point. The nature and wildlife of Wisconsin.
My love for Wisconsin’s lush landscapes still pulls at me, but I am ever drawn to and enchanted by the sage-covered landscapes of the Southwest.
I wanted to find creative ways to display my illustrations so I explored styling and framing the work in my photos to enhance the viewers’ experience. Convey a mood as well as display my pieces.
